The Promotion of KFZ Free Zone in CCPIT TEX By the Iranian Business Counselor

Mr. Ali Asghar Babaei, Iranian business counselor in China, visited CCPIT TEX recently meeting with Mr. Lin Yunfeng, secretary general of CCPIT TEX and Mr. Liang Pengcheng, Vice secretary general, for the purpose of promoting the Chinese investment into the Kish Free Zoon in Iran Mr. Ali Asghar Babaei also enhanced the qualified Chinese companies in the field of garment manufacture to invest and cooperate with KFZ.

Kish Island:
With an area of about 91 square kilometers, the Kish Island is Located 18 kilometers off the Southern coast of the mainland Iran and 300 kilometers from the southern Iranian port of Bandar Abbas. The Island has an oval shape with a major axis of 15 km running east and west and minor axis of 7 km running north and south. The highest point on the Island, located in the central part, is 45 meters above the sea level.

Kish Free Zone Organization
The Kish Free Zone (KFZ) has been established to implement infrastructure and development projects; enhance economic growth and development; boost investment and public revenues; create sound and productive employment; regulate labor and product markets; undertake an active presence in the global and regional markets; produce and export industrial goods and processed products; and to provide public services. The Kish Free Zone (KFZ) is administered by an organization with an independent juridical personality the capital of which if owned by the government. The organization and its affiliated enterprises are excluded from the scope of laws and regulations the govern state enterprises and of other general legislative provisions of the government. Instead, They are run in accordance with the provisions of the Law on the Administration of Free Trade-Industrial Zones of the I.R of Iran and the respective Articles of Asociation.With regard to matters not provided for in the respective laws or Articles of Association, the affairs of the Zone are subject to the Commercial Code. The KFZ is managed by a Board of Directors comprising 3-5 members who are appointed by the Council of Ministers.

Investment Incentives in the KFZ:
1¡¢ 15 years of Tax-exemption for entities holding economic activity license.
2¡¢ There is no entry visa requirement for foreign nationals.
3¡¢ 100% foreign ownership permitted.
4¡¢ Legal guarantee and protection extended to foreign investment.
5¡¢ No restrictions on investment in various fields for entities holding economic activity license.
6¡¢ No Limitations on transfer of foreing currency to other Iranian Free Zones or to other countries.
7¡¢ More flexible monetary and banking services.
8¡¢ Efficient, fast and broad range of services provided by state/private banks and insurance companies.
9¡¢ Easy foreign exchange transactions at rates determined on the basis of supply and demand at the Zones banks and the Central Bank¡¯s announcement.
10¡¢Exemption from customs duty on primary materials and industrial machinery imported for the manufacturing units operating on the Island.
11¡¢Simplified and smooth registration of companies,industrial establishments,cultural institutes and intellectual property ownership.
12¡¢Low cost and simple procedure of re-exportation of goods.
13¡¢Smooth regulations for the lawful entry of all goods based on the customs duty tables.
14¡¢Ability to export goods produced within the Kish Island into the mainland Iran based on the value added scheme.
15¡¢Sale\lease of land to Iranians and lease of land to non-Iranians.
16¡¢Simple labour law regulations and requirements.
