According to the updated data from Statistics
Center of China National Textile and Apparel Council,
in December China produced 1,398,100 tons of cotton
yarn (statistics of the companies with sales income
above RMB 5 million yuan), breaking the record
in history. In Jan.-Dec. 2005, China cumulatively
produced 14.124 million tons (unadjusted), increasing
24.63% year on year.
