Located at hinterland of Hang-Jia lake plain,
Tongxiang Puyuan has long history and special
culture. It's one of 5 big towns in the south
of river. With an area of 61 square kms, permanent
resident population of 43 thousand, immigration
population of 60 thousand, it is an important
economic town in the north of Zhejiang province.
Laborious PuYuan people develop the advantages
of traditional weaving industry and sweater industry.
Now there're 3142 sweater companies, 6400 sets
equipment, over 300 advanced imported computer
jacquard flat-bed machines, more than 50 thousand
employers. In 1988, the national biggest sweater
distributor center---PuYuan sweater market covering
an area of 1.5 square km was established. In the
market, there're all kinds of sweaters and cashmere
garments coming from the whole China. Every year
more than 100 thousand tons (approximate 0.3 billion
pieces) sweaters are sold to domestic market and
exported to Italy, Japan, Russia, Korea countires
from here.

Plan period, Puyuan will try to be the China biggest
sweater and knitting industry distributor center
integrated with production, trade, management, research
and service. What's more, it's on the schedule to
improve the competition ability of sweater products,
develop export market, set up the image of PuYuan
and have the town known by the whole world.
