Intertextile Pavilion at Shenzhen,to be held
12 ¨C 14 July 2007 in Shenzhen, in China¡¯s southern
Guangdong province, brings together fabric producers
and apparel makers in one of China¡¯s key manufacturing
and clothing design regions.
There are more than 3,000 apparel manufacturers
in the area, which together produce about 800
brands ¨C including some of the most popular in
China. Apparel manufacturing in China was once
focused on exports but rising incomes and growing
tastes at home have developed a thriving domestic
market. More than two-thirds of China¡¯s total
garment sales are now domestic and from 2000 to
2005, China¡¯s domestic per capita clothing consumption
grew 74%.
Shenzhen is one of the leading - and most trend-setting
- garment producing areas in the country. Located
near Hong Kong, Asia¡¯s axis point for textiles
and garment trading, Shenzhen features established
apparel manufacturers, creative designers and
a hub of technology and innovation.
Intertextile Pavilion at Shenzhen, a feature
at the Shenzhen International Trade Fair for Apparel
Fabrics and Accessories, brings fabric manufacturers
from around the world and across China to meet
the area¡¯s important apparel makers and other
key buyers. In 2006, more than 6,400 buyers attended
the fair to see the products of 220 exhibitors.
In addition to the textiles ¨C including cotton,
silk, wool, linen/ramie, man-made, knitted, functional,
lace and embroidery ¨C the show features new technology
and designs and a variety of accessories.
International Pavilion at Shenzhen is organized
by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd.; The Sub-Council
of Textile Industry, CCPIT; and Shenzhen Garment
Industry Association.
