A record-breaking attendance of 126,000 visitors from 25 countries and regions.
A 7.5% increase in the number of exhibitors, totaling at 1032.

China International Clothing & Accessories Fair ( CHIC ), since the year of 1993, was held successfully from March 27th to April 4th , 2005. It has been the largest fashion exhibition in Asia and plays a key role in Chinese garments industry.

CHIC2005 was held the second year into 2 sessions ( March 27th — 29th, 2005 for Men’s wear and Casual Wear and April 2nd — 4th, 2005 for Women’s wear, Kid’s wear and Accessories ) in Hall 1 to Hall 10 (Hall 9&10 are temporary halls) in China International Exhibition Center in Beijing, covering a total exhibition area of 120,000 square meters, 20,000 square meters larger than the last year. There are1032 exhibitors from both domestic and abroad with 7.5% of increase than that of 2004. Among them, the number of international exhibitors is 326, more than 10% lager than last year, and that of domestic exhibitors is 706. The International Pavilions come from Italy, France, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Macao. There are also some exhibitors who are from Germany, British, Spain, the United States, Finland, Turkey, India, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan. Italian National Pavilion, organized by Italian Trade Commission ( ICE ), with an exhibition area of 2752 square meters and 70 Italian companies at both sessions, is the highlight of CHIC2005 and attracts almost all sights of 126,000 visitors. Sponsored by Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Hong Kong Pavilion consists of 103 companies, keeps the seat of No. 1 international Pavilion with an exhibiting area of 7,700 square meters at two sessions, which shows their great enthusiasm and confidence to the market of Mainland China. Organized by Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and Korea Apparel Industry Association, Korea National Pavilion covers an area of 288 square meters with 20 Korea exhibitors. In particular, groups from domestic provinces and cities such as Chong Qing, Dalian, Fu Jian, Guangdong, Hangzhou, Jiangsu, Shangdong, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Shi Shi, Si Chuan, Tianjin, Wu Han and so on brought about each of their unique styles and flavors of apparel and accessories as highlights in front of the visitors. CHIC2005 has almost included all of the famous brands of lines in China.

In CHIC2005, the halls are divided more specific according to the product categories. In the first session, there are Hall of business wear, business casual, fashion casual, sports wear, leather wear, Jeans wear, the Theme hall of Style Hong Kong, the Theme hall of Shanshan and overseas halls. In the second session, there are Hall of fashion women’s wear, casual women’s wear, silk wear, fur & leather wear, evening wear, lingerie, nationalities’ wear, kids’ wear, accessories, the Theme hall of Shanshan and overseas halls. The Theme hall of Style Hong Kong congregated 57 fashion brands from Hong Kong in Hall 8B with beautiful decoration. The Group of Shanshan, one of the Chinese famous fashion company, brought 14 of it’s fashion brands to CHIC2005 in hall 9.

The total visitors are 126,000 in 6 days of exhibition. 66,000 are buyers among them, covering 52% in the total number of visitors, considering that only 33% in CHIC2002.

There are 16 fashion shows including “Fashion from Europe” for both sessions during CHIC2005 which announce fashion trends in China and the world and well promote the good images of the famous fashion brands and the prestige of the clothing enterprises in the meantime.

In addition, there are numbers of other activities enriching the exhibition in CHIC2005: trade negotiation, the forums, the press conferences and so on. The main topic for the China Garments Forum is “the Strategy of Brand Culture and Made in China”. Some famous experts from both domestic and abroad gave excellent lectures for the exhibitors.
