Source£ºCCPIT TEX        Date: 2006-02-20

Textile exports of India in quota-free realm have recorded an exceptional growth in market share in US and European Union, stated Shankarsinh Vaghela, Union Textile Minister.

Indian textile has increased its share in US markets by 26 percent, while in the EU, it reached 20 percent growth level.

He also added that India is next to China, which has registered such growth rates in these two markets.

Disproving every statement of possible failure of Indian textile in competing Mexico and other players in the nearby region of the US, Indian textile has proved its superiority and became a sunrise industry.

The West Bengal Chief Minister, Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, urged Vaghela to set up a special committee to study the impact of Chinese silk imports into India.
