July 27, 2008, on the occasion of ITMA ASIA + CITME 2008, Mr. Du Yuzhou, the President of China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC) met Madam Jemal Geokilenowa, the Minister of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan, in Shanghai.

This was the first time that the two leaders of the industry had a talk, which was believed conducive to the industrial cooperation between the two countries.

According to Madam Jemal Geokilenowa, Turkmenistan has profound resources of facilities and labor force in cotton spinning sector and is looking for investments and know-how input. Silk is another area that Turkmenistan would like to work with China, which is one of the largest silk producers.

Mr. Du Yuzhou expressed that chinesestextile and clothing industry is always open to complementary cooperation and hoped to see more and more exchanges and communications in the future
