in October, January through October cumulative
industrial output expanded 18.5 percent, Textile
production grew 15.3 percent. |

Volume Declines in October |

China's cotton import volume
declined to 137,000 tons in October, which
was down from 234,500 tons in September; however,
imports were up 61.2 percent from year-ago
volume. January through October cumulative
cotton import volume dropped 37.22 percent
from year-ago levels to reach 2,036,300 tons. |

billion square meters in October, January
through October cumulative cotton fabric production
increased 16.58 percent to total 22.783 billion
square meters. |

yarn production further increased in October,
expanding 13 percent to 1.7404 million tons,
which was up from 1.7211 million tons in September.
January through October cumulative yarn output

16.1759 million tons. |
